How we review mattresses

What goes into a review

We use manufacturer product pages, specifications, and published trial and return policies. Each review links to its product and pricing sources and records when the information was checked. We compare construction, stated firmness, queen-size price, available configurations, and policies. Where the source information is incomplete or conflicting, we say so.

Comments about likely feel, temperature, motion, and support are editorial inferences from construction and published descriptions. They are not measured results or promises of comfort. A higher price does not automatically mean a better fit.

How the bed finder works

The six questions ask about sleep position, budget, firmness, preferred feel, sleep temperature, and sensitivity to a partner's movement. Your budget is an eligibility limit first. Among eligible configurations, the scoring model weighs sleep position at 35%, firmness at 25%, preferred feel at 15%, temperature at up to 15%, and motion sensitivity at up to 10%. Preferences you leave unspecified do not add points; the active weights are normalized.

The finder selects the best-fitting eligible configuration from each model and shows up to three models. If none fit the budget, it labels the nearest alternatives as over budget. It currently covers 47 models with sufficiently specific configuration and firmness data. The full library has 318 reviews, including models that the finder cannot score reliably.

These weights and fit estimates are editorial rules, not clinical guidance or validated predictions of individual comfort. Use the explanations and tradeoffs to narrow your research, then verify the selected model and return terms with the seller.

How we handle prices and commissions

Prices are dated queen-size snapshots, before tax. Firmness, covers, bases, delivery, promotions, and retailer terms can change the amount you pay. We do not present these snapshots as live checkout prices.
